Overview
Dr. Martens is a footwear brand whose story began with the “1460” boot, created on April 1, 1960, in Wollaston, England, when R. Griggs Group licensed German-origin air-cushion sole technology. Symbolized by the heel-loop slogan “With Bouncing Soles,” the brand offers boots, shoes, sandals, and more, and is sold in over 60 countries. As a company, it champions being a symbol of self-expression and takes “Committing to leave things better than we found them” as its sustainability guiding principle.

Dr. Martens Made in England 1960
Dr. Martens Made in England is a premium sub-line produced at the Cobbs Lane factory in Wollaston, Northamptonshire, where the brand originated. Combining the factory’s handcrafting, practiced for more than 60 years, with modern processes, it produces limited quantities of vintage-oriented models that reinterpret and revive classic silhouettes such as the 1460. Compared with the globally mass-produced main line, it occupies a higher-tier position, emphasizing limited production, country-of-origin labeling, and craftsmanship.

The replacement policy stipulated that Made in England products were excluded as alternatives.
