Paul Smith Black Label was launched in summer 2005 as a womenswear line of Paul Smith, created by British designer Paul Smith. It focused primarily on womenswear centered on tailoring. Following a brand reorganization, the lines were consolidated from the Fall/Winter 2016 collection onward, and it has not been operated as an independent label since.

The “Paul Smith Black” line (Black Label), operated as a derivative line on the womenswear side of Paul Smith. Vintage Fashion Guild notes that Black label launched in summer 2005 and that Black was positioned as a womenswear diffusion line. As of 2015, it was still reported as one of the womenswear lines (Paul Smith / Black Label / Paul by Paul Smith).
