Barbour International originated with a motorcycle wax suit developed in 1936 for the International Six Days Trial (ISDT), and began operating as a standalone line in 2013. While retaining functional details derived from biker and military styles, such as an angled chest pocket, throat strap, and adjustable belt, it differs from the parent brand’s country-oriented core line by giving men’s and women’s collections an urban reinterpretation using materials such as waxed cotton and quilting. Within the group, it is positioned in the more technical and active apparel segment, centered on motorcycle heritage.
