Overview

D Lewis is a British clothing company founded in London in 1892 by David Isaacs. Initially, it made menswear and equipment for aviation and motorcycling, and offered Aviakit and leather jackets. In the 1950s, it became known for youth-oriented leather jackets such as Bronx, and from 1960 onward continued under the brand name Lewis Leathers. Today, models from that period are reproduced and offered as a heritage label of Lewis Leathers, under the name D Lewis Ltd.

D Lewis is a trade name/label used during the brand’s early years, and a historical design

D Lewis is a trade name/label used during the brand’s early years, and a historical designation under which D. Lewis Ltd made clothing and motoring/aviation gear from the first half of the 20th century. Lewis Leathers currently reuses the “D Lewis” label on reissue series and accessories that faithfully recreate patterns and details from that period, positioning it as a limited derivative line focused on recreating archive pieces, separate from its main line.
