Overview

Destroy is a fashion label launched in 1990 by British designer John Richmond. As a second line with more accessible prices than his main line, it offered items such as T-shirts, jeans, and jackets. Against the backdrop of London youth, club, and street culture, the denim offshoot line Destroy Denim also appeared in 1991. In Spring/Summer 1992, it presented a collection under its own name. It is no longer part of the lines operated by John Richmond.

Destroy is a historical diffusion line launched by John Richmond in 1990. While the main line focused on tailoring and leather, Destroy covered more casual clothing such as T-shirts and jeans. It used its own name and graphics, developing John Richmond’s expression associated with rock and youth culture through a different range of clothing. Destroy Denim, which emerged later, was distinguished within Destroy as a line specializing in denim. It is not part of the current official lineup and is a historical line representing the brand’s early development.
