FILA WHITE ROCK
Basic information
Overview
FILA WHITE ROCK is a sportswear and gear line for mountaineering and alpinism, launched in 1976 by FILA, which originated in Biella, Italy. FILA designer Pierluigi Rolando was involved in its development, and the line was shaped around technical performance suited to mountain environments and field testing. It is known for its association with mountaineers Giorgio Bertone and Reinhold Messner, and gained prominence through Messner’s 1978 oxygen-free ascent of Everest. In later years, it has been reinterpreted as clothing for outdoor pursuits and urban life, drawing on the archive.

FILA 1911
FILA WHITE ROCK is a historical sportswear line launched by FILA in 1976 as it expanded into alpinism and mountain activities. Unlike WHITE LINE, which was designed for tennis, it targeted natural environments and developed outerwear designed to withstand wind and rain, as well as items such as the Tela Vela jacket, which applied materials used in canvas. The line extended FILA’s sporting reach from the court to high altitudes and the outdoors, and is one of the important archives reinterpreted by HERITAGE today. In contrast to AQUA TIME, which focused on water sports, and WHITE LINE, which focused on tennis, WHITE ROCK represented functional development and brand expansion in mountaineering and alpinism.
