Rebuild by Needles
Basic information
Overview
Rebuild by Needles is a capsule collection of remade garments within NEEDLES, launched in 2010 by Keizo Shimizu, representative of NEPENTHES and designer of NEEDLES. Using previously mass-produced clothing as material, the garments are dismantled and reconstructed by combining multiple parts, resulting in pieces that are close to one of a kind, with no two alike.
Concept
Centred around the concept of clothes once mass produced and left without purpose, rebuilt and reconstructed to create one-of-one standalone pieces.

REBUILD by Needles is a capsule-like reconstruction/remake line by NEEDLES, which is part of NEPENTHES, and launched in 2010. Its central approach is to dismantle previously mass-produced ready-to-wear garments and vintage pieces, then reconstruct multiple parts into new one-of-a-kind items. It uses construction techniques such as “7 Cuts,” which combines flannel panels, and ribbon shirts. Each item is a unique piece, distinguishing the line from seasonal collections and mass-production lines in its approach to production. The pieces are made in Japan and distributed through NEPENTHES-operated stores, select stockists, and collaborations with external brands.
