Rebuild by Needles 2010
REBUILD by Needles is a capsule-like reconstruction/remake line by NEEDLES, which is part of NEPENTHES, and launched in 2010. Its central approach is to dismantle previously mass-produced ready-to-wear garments and vintage pieces, then reconstruct multiple parts into new one-of-a-kind items. It uses construction techniques such as “7 Cuts,” which combines flannel panels, and ribbon shirts. Each item is a unique piece, distinguishing the line from seasonal collections and mass-production lines in its approach to production. The pieces are made in Japan and distributed through NEPENTHES-operated stores, select stockists, and collaborations with external brands.

Needles Sportswear
Positioned as a sub-label within NEEDLES, Needles Sportswear is a line developed by founder Keizo Shimizu by carving out NEEDLES’ sportswear segment, focusing primarily on tracksuits and outerwear and pants derived from sportswear. It features the brand’s signature butterfly embroidery on items such as track pieces. Its concept is distinct from Rebuild by Needles, which centers on deconstructing and reconstructing vintage garments, with Needles Sportswear serving the sportier side of NEEDLES.
