Overview

STONE ISLAND SHADOW PROJECT is an experimental sub-line of Stone Island, an Italian menswear brand. It was launched in 2008 by Carlo Rivetti together with Errolson Hugh and Michaela Sachenbacher of ACRONYM®, and advanced material research and functional design based on the idea of designing urban menswear as a “system.” It is now regarded primarily as a project documented in archives.

Concept

STONE ISLAND SHADOW PROJECT is a unique and unprecedented fusion. A fresh and intelligent new light cast upon the timeless interplay of form and function. Calling the project SHADOW underlines the intimate relationship and interaction between this work and the full body of the STONE ISLAND collection.

A spin-off program launched by Carlo Rivetti through dialogue with ACRONYM® (Errolson Hugh / Michaela Sachenbacher), built on STONE ISLAND’s archive and development capabilities.
