Bois&Forets is a fashion label that emerged from Japan’s Dessin de Mode in 2024. Designs are led by Dessin de Mode designer Tsutomu Mizuno, and the label produces clothing that draws on materials from across Japan, the skills of artisans, and dyeing and sewing techniques. The brand name means “woods and forests,” and its guiding principle is to create clothes like art pieces through sharing the work and creative process with artisans. For its debut collection, it collaborated with Yasuhiko Hoshina, a plant dyer from Hokuriku, presenting jackets, shirts, pants, and other pieces made using plant dyes.
