GLENROYAL of Scotland
GLENROYAL is a leather goods brand founded in 1979 in Ayrshire, west-central Scotland. It offers bags, wallets, belts, stationery, and other products centered on high-quality bridle leather, and continues to produce them by hand with Scottish artisans. Guided by Britain’s longstanding traditions of craftsmanship, the brand develops products that incorporate functionality suited to contemporary life while carrying on traditional materials and techniques. It entered the Japanese market in the early 1990s and has become established as a British brand representative of bridle leather accessories. Scott Latimer was involved in the early designs.

Concept

GLENROYAL takes Britain’s longstanding traditions of craftsmanship as its benchmark. Since its founding, it has continued to contribute to the revival of British craftsmanship by bringing renewed attention to traditions that are fading in the modern era.

GRACE COLLECTION is an independent collection for women derived from GLENROYAL’s main collection, developed for “stylish, independent adult women.” While using the same bridle leather as the main line, it is composed primarily of compact sizes that fit comfortably in women’s hands, wallets and small accessories that are easy to store in a bag, and items such as satchel bags and Boston bags. In contrast to the core line, which also includes products for men and business use, it is positioned around models and color schemes suited to women’s daily lives. New items have been released regularly since 2019, and it is still treated as an official product category.

UTILITY LINE is an independent line developed by GLENROYAL with a focus on functionality and minimalist forms. It consists primarily of small leather goods that make storage for business and travel more compact, including organizer wallets, small money clips, card cases, and compact wallets. In addition to standard bridle leather, it uses embossed Lakeland Bridle leather and was offered in multiple colors when introduced in 2019. While the main collection presents a broad range of traditional British leather goods, UTILITY LINE is positioned as a function-focused line that clearly emphasizes portability and purpose-specific design.

CONTEMPORARY COLLECTION is an ongoing collection launched by GLENROYAL for Fall/Winter 2023, designed to address contemporary, diverse lifestyles. It combines the bridle leather central to the main collection with water-repellent, lightweight nylon, and includes totes, daypacks, briefcases, and shoulder bags. Its features include specifications designed for everyday use, commuting, and business trips, such as PC compartments and multiple pockets. New items continued to be introduced for Fall/Winter 2024 and in 2026. Rather than a one-off seasonal name, it can be regarded as an official line that extends the brand’s core focus on leather goods into contemporary bags.
