Material systems for contemporary garments.
GR10K is a fashion brand whose origins lie in a project launched in 2017 by Italy’s Ana Grassi. Drawing on the expertise and archives of Alfredo Grassi S.p.A., a family business that has produced industrial workwear, military clothing, and protective apparel, the brand develops menswear using deadstock and high-performance technical fabrics. It was renamed and relaunched from “Grassi 10000” as GR10K for Fall/Winter 2019. Its work is based on technical experimentation, utility, and collaborative design spanning fields including art and architecture, and includes projects such as REPLICATED.

Concept

GR10K is a progressive design laboratory operating at the intersection of technical experimentation, countercultural aesthetics, and utilitarian function.

REPLICATED is a second line that reconstitutes the early group of garments that formed the foundation when GR10K was founded, and develops it as an independent, ongoing line. While GR10K’s main line undertakes seasonal material research and conceptual design proposals, REPLICATED focuses on the archetypes of workwear and uniforms, presenting staple garments detached from trends, seasons, and collection moods. Centered on a range of staple items, it is deliberately designed to be genderless and year-round, and is positioned as a line that carries forward the functionality and repeatability at GR10K’s point of departure in a different form. The official site lists it as an independent GR10K collection, and major fashion publications also describe it as GR10K’s “second line” or “Replicated line.”
