guépard is a Japanese eyewear brand launched in 2016, led by Masashi Yamamura, who runs the vintage eyewear store SPEAKEASY in Kobe, and Kazuki Yanagihara, who runs Fréquence. in Sapporo. The brand has spent many years studying French vintage eyewear, particularly “Frame France” from the 1940s and 1950s, and develops glasses and sunglasses with a focus on carrying its sculptural beauty and spirit into the present. Drawing on an archive of vintage frames and Japanese craftsmanship, it presents collections that reconfigure designs from the period for contemporary wear.
