Durable, beautiful eyewear to be cherished for many years.
Kame Mannen is a Japanese eyewear brand based in Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture. Its origins date back to 1917, when Kikujirō Kimura established the plating factory Kimura Seisakusho in Fukui City. After the war, the business developed into an eyewear factory in Sabae, and Kame Mannen was established as its own brand. The brand name comes from the proverb “A crane lives for a thousand years, a turtle for ten thousand years.” Carrying on the founder’s wish to make durable glasses that can be used for many years, the brand produces eyewear with an emphasis on careful craftsmanship and quality for long-term use.
