THE NEXT GENERATION OF REVO TECHNOLOGY
Revo Black is a collection introduced in 2021 by Revo, a polarized sunglasses brand based in Elgin, Illinois, USA. Revo was established in 1985 when Dr. Mitch Ruda, a NASA astrophysicist and optical engineer, applied the idea of a coating used to protect satellites to eye protection. Based on “Revo Black is where design meets technology - with cutting-edge polarized photochromic sunglass lenses that transition from light to dark automatically,” Revo Black is developed around three design concepts: carbon fiber construction, lightweight construction, and a solderless titanium frame front.

Within Revo, Revo Black is a line centered on photochromic lenses whose tint changes in response to light. It emphasizes three design principles: a carbon-fiber structure, a lightweight construction, and a rivetless titanium front. Rather than relying on general category distinctions, it foregrounds structural differences and functions as a derivative line that presents Revo’s NASA-derived technology from a different angle.
