Surplus Daniel Patrick is a diffusion line of Daniel Patrick, based in Los Angeles, USA. Designer Daniel Patrick, who creates the main brand, drew inspiration from military surplus stores he often visited as a source of creative ideas. The line offers hoodies, sweatshirts, T-shirts, pants, totes, and other items. Centered on an appreciation for the quality, durability, and purpose-built design found in military goods, it proposes everyday wear as a “brand within a brand” that carries the main line forward and works either on its own or in combination with the main line.
Concept
Surplus Daniel Patrick draws inspiration from military surplus stores, as Daniel would frequent them often as a source of creative insight. What stood out was the quality and durability of the pieces found in these stores and the fact that the items were made for a purpose. The Surplus line picks up where the Daniel Patrick main line leaves off. A brand within the brand, distinct enough as standalone pieces or to be incorporated with our main line.
