Born from Nature
Vuarnet began in 1957 at Roger Pouilloux’s workshop on Rue Boissy d’Anglas in Paris, and the meeting between Roger Pouilloux and Jean Vuarnet in 1959 led to the creation of the brand. Vuarnet AIR is a sustainable collection of sports eyewear designed with naturally derived or recycled materials, rethinking the frame, lenses, cord, case, and packaging as a whole. The mineral glass lenses are made in France at the company’s own factory near Paris. The case and cord use neoprene derived from PET bottles (70% recycled and recyclable).

Nature has been our playground since 1957 and we are more than ever committed to protecting it.

Vuarnet AIR is the first eco-responsible collection based on natural and recycled material

Vuarnet AIR is the first eco-responsible collection based on natural and recycled materials, as presented on Vuarnet’s official website. The brand positions it as a turning point in its history and is revisiting material choices across frames, cords, cases, packaging, and leaflets. It has indicated plans to extend these material specifications to sports eyewear as a whole in the future, making it a derivative line that takes a different approach to materials development from its established core collections.
