French watchmaking without compromise: precision, character, and freedom.
1977 is a French watch brand. It originated with a watch unveiled in 2022 as a 45th-anniversary model for watchmaker PIERRE LANNIER, and was established as a brand in 2023 at the company’s workshop in the Alsace region. Conceived by Pierre Burgun, the brand was brought to fruition with the involvement of his daughter, Laura. It champions the craftsmanship and boldness of French watchmaking. Its watches are planned, designed, and assembled in France, and use French-made movements by France Ébauches. The brand offers collections such as Edmond and Arsène and operates under PIERRE LANNIER.

A derived line specializing in French-made mechanical watches

Following the success of PIERRE LANNIER’s 45th-anniversary model, 1977 was launched in 202

Following the success of PIERRE LANNIER’s 45th-anniversary model, 1977 was launched in 2024 as an independent watch brand carrying on that legacy. While PIERRE LANNIER offers watches for a wide range of men and women, this line places French-made mechanical watches and watchmaking expertise at the forefront, including through the use of French-made movements, and is positioned around a focus on craftsmanship. PIERRE LANNIER’s official materials describe it as an “independent line”; it is not simply a commemorative model or collection name, but a derived line within the brand family that carries on the parent brand’s technology and history.
