Overview

Tagline

A new denim wardrobe for a style that takes you half a step forward.
5 1/2 is a new denim line launched by Japan’s Spick & Span in Spring 2020. Based on the idea of valuing who you are now, embracing your individuality, and encouraging you to take a half-step forward, it brings a fresh touch through considered silhouettes and lengths. Alongside denim in several styles, including GIRLY-LINE, BEAUTY-LINE, and SLIM-LINE, the line also offers denim jackets and overalls. It continues to be developed as a denim label.

Concept

The concept is to value who you are now, embrace your individuality, and encourage you to take a half-step forward. By infusing cherished things passed down over time with what people think and want now, the line brings a fresh touch through considered silhouettes and lengths rather than anything overly contrived. The fusion of the present and the past makes everyday life from tomorrow more enjoyable.

An original denim line launched by Spick & Span in spring 2020. It has grown as a derivative line that adds a fresh perspective through silhouettes and lengths suited to the present, while expanding the wardrobe around denim. It has a separate theme from the main Spick & Span line, with its role focused on proposing denim silhouettes and exploring the texture of materials. In 2025, a collection of denim goods was also added, and in 2026 it continues to present new items suited to the season, including lightweight 8 oz denim.
