APOTHECARY is a fragrance and bath and body care brand developed by New Zealand’s Matakana Botanicals. Founded in 1988, it develops products that allow people to experience the benefits of aromatherapy without using fire or electricity, guided by a desire to help those struggling with lack of sleep or reduced concentration due to the demands and stress of daily life. Product development draws inspiration from plants grown and harvested in New Zealand, and essential oils are distilled at the company’s own facility. The oil blends are created by Mary Wakefield, an experienced aromatherapist in New Zealand. Apothecary products are still available through the Matakana Botanicals official store.
