ayame is a Japanese eyewear brand founded in 2010 by designer Yu Imaizumi. Drawing inspiration from Japanese culture, fashion, film, and craftsmanship, it works with artisans in Sabae, Fukui Prefecture, and focuses primarily on eyeglasses and sunglasses. Grounded in the study of classic styles, the brand seeks points of connection between the contemporary and the timeless, as well as humor, and takes “learning from the past to create the new” as its concept. With Japanese-made quality and contemporary design at its core, it presents its products in Japan and abroad.
