Dress up wholeheartedly while staying true to yourself.
B-I (Blume Ingeborg) is a new label launched for the Fall/Winter 2025 season. It carries forward respect for the history and archives of INGEBORG, founded by designer Isao Kaneko in 1983, while adding a commitment to sustainable production and reinterpreting that legacy under creative director Yuya Nakata. The label offers unisex clothing and accessories made with carefully selected materials and advanced craftsmanship, incorporating the traditional beauty and techniques of textiles from the Bishu region of Aichi Prefecture. The name means “Be I,” accepting me as I am, and “Bi,” the never-ending pursuit of beauty.

Concept

B and I are the initials of Blume Ingeborg, and Blume means “flower” in German. Each element that makes up B-I shines beautifully like a flower, and the collection formed by bringing them together radiates like a bouquet. Be I = accepting “being myself.” Clothing for being true to oneself. Bi = beauty, an eternal theme: the never-ending pursuit of beauty. Bi is also a Latin prefix meaning “two,” and carries the idea of a second chapter for INGEBORG.

B-I, a new brand that emerged from INGEBORG, was launched with Japanese craftsmanship at the forefront, grounded in respect for the history and archives of a brand with more than 40 years of history. With Yuya Nakata as creative director, it carries forward INGEBORG’s worldview while offering clothing and accessories incorporating the traditional beauty of textiles from Bishu, taking on new forms of expression as the brand’s second chapter. The collections are reconfigured around projects, presenting a new perspective while remaining continuous with the established INGEBORG.
