BACH is an outdoor equipment brand founded by Jim Hayes in Waterford, Ireland, in 1979. It began by designing and manufacturing backpacks, and in 1982 developed and patented Orthoflex, an early practical internal-frame back system. The brand relocated its base to Switzerland in 1998 and partnered with the SCOTT Sports Group in 2019. Since 2022, as BACH Equipment, it has offered backpacks and bags for trekking, hiking, travel, and everyday use, as well as tents, bivy bags, camping chairs, and sleep systems. Its gear is developed around clean design, durable materials, and adjustable fit, with a focus on durability, reliability, and comfort.
