Overview

Cramp is a Japanese leather brand that grew out of Ikkenohata Ginkawaten, a workshop and shop opened in 2004 in Ikenohata, Taito-ku, Tokyo, by leather artisan Katsuhisa Ono. Its range includes wallets, coin purses, card cases, bags, belts, and bracelets. Artisans plan and make leather goods using leather from Japan and abroad. With the kasugai, a belt component, as its logo motif, the brand is based on the concept of “connecting makers and users” and focuses on craftsmanship that reflects functionality and feedback from users. It also has the Cramp Classic series, made with British bridle leather.

Cramp Classic is a series/line officially offered by Cramp, the main brand of 池之端銀革店, and is distinguished within Cramp as a product range centered on British bridle leather. Whereas the regular Cramp range offers a broad selection of leather goods using multiple types of leather, this line places a clearer emphasis on details with an antique feel, built around bridle leather and brass edge-reinforcement fittings. It is positioned not as a separate brand of 池之端銀革店 like Dual or Haru, but as a derivative line within the Cramp brand with a narrower focus on materials and design.
