Overview

Filson Black Label is a subline of Filson, a long-established American outdoor brand. The parent brand, Filson, was founded in Seattle in 1897 by Clinton C. Filson. Planned for the European and Japanese markets, Black Label was a line centered on premium outerwear, produced mainly in Italy, and was also presented at events such as Pitti Uomo. It is characterized by designs that reconfigure classic workwear with contemporary specifications. Its distribution is now limited, and it is more often found on the secondhand market.

Filson Black Label — a Filson sub-label documented in the late 2000s–early 2010s that presented more refined, fashion-oriented variants of Filson’s heritage workwear. The line was shown at trade fairs (notably Pitti Uomo) and was marketed primarily in Europe and Japan; several Black Label pieces were manufactured in Italy (Manifattura Ceccarelli) and distributed through specialty retailers and reseller channels. Documented activity for the label is concentrated around c.2009–2012.
