Unfailing Goods Since 1897
FILSON was founded in 1897 in Seattle, Washington, by C.C. Filson (Clinton C. Filson) as a longstanding outfitter for outdoor and workwear. It grew in response to the demand for equipment from prospectors heading to the Alaska Gold Rush, and today offers apparel and gear including outerwear, shirts, bags, and luggage. Under the tagline “Unfailing Goods Since 1897,” it makes products that prioritize practicality in harsh environments and long-term use.

The line was shown at trade fairs (notably Pitti Uomo) and was marketed primarily in Europe and Japan; several Black Label pieces were manufactured in Italy (Manifattura Ceccarelli) and distributed through specialty retailers and reseller channels. Documented activity for the label is concentrated around c.2009–2012.
