I WAS PLASTIC is a sustainable fashion brand launched in Seoul, South Korea, in 2019. Headed by Chu Myung-jin, the brand offers fashion accessories, primarily bags, made with fabric from recycled yarn extracted by collecting, washing, and melting discarded PET bottles. Inspired by the idea in its name, “I was once plastic,” it aims to reduce waste and circulate resources, and is guided by the principles of raising environmental awareness and making recycling a part of everyday life.
