Its name takes the initials of Life Basic Communication (“the basics of life begin with conversation”), and the brand was launched in 1997. A new format derived from LBC in 2015, it was launched as a lifestyle shop centered on houseplants and bringing together miscellaneous goods, gifts, lifestyle suggestions, and products for women, men, and children. It broadened LBC’s primarily miscellaneous-goods-focused curation and took on the role of presenting a holistic approach to everyday living in locations directly connected to stations and inside commercial facilities. Its development also included conversions from LBC topics’ small in-station format and LBC market’s shopping-center format, and the store list includes locations directly connected to stations, in-station stores, and shopping-center stores.

A small-format business concept developed from LBC for customers in their 20s and 30s, with a location strategy focused on stations and terminals. Its 70–80 m² sales floors brought together fashion accessories, legwear, rain goods, and small gift items. Compared with LBC market, which centered on RSC locations, it placed greater emphasis on accommodating customer traffic flow. It was designed as an urban channel with a narrower everyday offering than LBC with Life. Current store listings also show that its locations remain concentrated around stations with direct connections.
