Overview

LEATHER & SILVER MOTO is a Japanese leather and silver brand started in 1997 in Yonago, Tottori Prefecture, by brothers Daisuke and Sakuto Motoike. The brothers, whose father is leather artist Hideo Motoike, create leather goods and silver accessories. Daisuke draws on metal engraving techniques he studied in Italy, while Sakuto draws on his experience studying sculpture. Their work is guided by the theme of “tradition and innovation.” The brand is a line derived from the parent brand MOTO.

A brand launched in 1997 by brothers 本池大介 and 作人, sons of MOTO founder 本池秀夫, building on the leatherworking practices he established. It combines leather goods such as shoes, bags, and wallets with silver pieces informed by each brother’s experience in metal engraving and carving, extending MOTO’s handcraft across both leather and silver. In contrast to MOTOR, which focuses on clothing and workwear, and MOTORATORY, which undertakes experimental production, it is the core line centered on leather goods and silver accessories.
