Overview

Renaissance was a womenswear label launched in 2003 by Avoca Handweavers in County Wicklow, Ireland. Alongside Avoca Anthology, it was one of the company’s fashion brands. Amanda Pratt and two designers handled its planning and design, and it was wholesaled to around 300 stores in the UK. Fabrics were sourced from Italy, France, and Spain, and production took place in Latvia and Italy. It is a former spin-off brand that is no longer offered as a current Avoca line.

Renaissance was an early fashion label developed from Avoca’s clothing design and manufacturing business. One of two apparel lines alongside Avoca Anthology, it was supplied to multiple retailers, primarily in the UK. While Anthology developed into Avoca’s better-known representative line, Renaissance was another independent line within Avoca’s apparel business during the same period.
