Overview

TATA BABY is the kids’ line of TALKING ABOUT THE ABSTRACTION, a fashion brand originating in Osaka, Japan. The parent brand was established in 2001 by Naoki Ichihara and others, and TATA BABY launched as a children’s clothing line in the Fall/Winter 2007 season (07-08 A/W). Its offerings focus on children’s clothing and accessories, and it creates playful products using techniques such as transfer (photo) printing, in keeping with the parent brand’s principle of “design for coexistence with everyone involved in the creation of works.” Some photo-print bags and other items have also been distributed for adults and carried by select shops overseas.

TATA BABY is a children’s clothing line developed by TALKING ABOUT THE ABSTRACTION. It was introduced from the Fall/Winter 2007–2008 season with designs that made use of functional materials, such as moisture-wicking and quick-drying fabrics. Released under a name bearing the brand’s abbreviation, “TATA,” it is positioned as a separate line that reworks design elements of the parent brand, such as transfer prints, to suit children’s sizes, comfort, and functional needs.
