UA HOVR is a proprietary cushioning platform introduced in 2018 by the U.S. sports brand Under Armour. It was first used in the UA HOVR Sonic and Phantom running shoes, and was later adopted across a wide range of footwear, including training, basketball, golf, and boots. Centered on combining cushioning with responsiveness (energy return), some models also offered a feature that records running metrics through integration with MapMyRun.

A footwear line derived from Under Armour and introduced in 2018, centered on cushioning (bounce and energy return). Developed primarily for running, it is offered as a platform designed to balance shock absorption with a sense of propulsion, forming one of the technical pillars of the brand’s footwear development. While HeatGear/ColdGear apparel addresses “environmental optimization for base layers,” UA HOVR™ complements the lineup by delivering a “performance experience underfoot.”
