A VACATION is a Japan-based bag brand launched for Fall/Winter 2018 by Ayaka Fukiage, who worked as an accessories buyer at United Arrows. Inspired by travel, the brand develops collections centered on bags designed for use from trips to everyday life, and intended to be freely paired with clothing as part of an outfit. The brand name conveys the message “a companion for your travels,” and its guiding phrase is “giving shape to thoughts of travel.” Three-dimensional jacquard fabrics are its signature, and the “TANK” big tote is a key design. The brand is also characterized by made-in-Japan quality, including hand stitching and leather piping by craftspeople at its own factory. Since Spring/Summer 2024, it has also offered a capsule collection of clothing.
