AKIKOAOKI is a Japanese womenswear brand launched in Tokyo in 2014 by designer Akiko Aoki. After studying at Joshibi University of Art and Design and fashion at Central Saint Martins in London, Aoki returned to Japan and founded the brand after working as an assistant at a collection brand. Viewing fashion as the act of living itself, the brand is guided by the idea of “capturing the fantasy hidden in reality through an essential sensibility.” It focuses on womenswear and also offers shoes and bags. Centered on the reconfiguration and deconstruction of classic elements, it has presented collections in Tokyo since Spring/Summer 2015. The brand operates in Japan and internationally, and was named an LVMH Prize semifinalist in 2018 and selected for TOKYO FASHION AWARD 2023.
