Overview

AQUA TIME is a swimwear line launched in 1976 by FILA, which originated in Biella, Italy. Centered on swimwear for men and women, it used FILA’s proprietary, highly elastic Lycra, “Pelle d’uovo,” and featured designs inspired by the waves of the sea and the fluidity of the body. Created by FILA designer Pierluigi Rolando and characterized by a minimalist geometric style inspired by the works of Lucio Fontana, it is a historical FILA line.

AQUA TIME is a historical specialist line that FILA introduced in 1976 for swimmers and sailing. It extended FILA’s sportswear development, established through tennis and alpinism, into water sports, incorporating thin, body-hugging swimwear materials and geometric designs that evoke the movement of water. While WHITE LINE covered tennis wear for the court and WHITE ROCK covered clothing for mountain environments, AQUA TIME was the offshoot line for the water-sports categories of swimming and sailing. Rather than a current core product line, it is positioned as an archive that illustrates how FILA expanded into new sporting fields.
