ASAHI ATHLETIC is a footwear line from ASAHI, headquartered in Kurume, Fukuoka Prefecture, where it also operates a factory. ASAHI Shoes traces its origins to a tailoring business started in Kurume in 1892 by its founder, Tokujirō Ishibashi, and has manufactured rubber footwear and leather shoes. Developed from 2016 as a new line combining shoemaking techniques with design, ASAHI ATHLETIC offers Japanese-made sneakers with canvas uppers and rubber soles. ASAHI 046 proposes athletic shoes focused on functionality, based on sole molds and lasts designed in the 1980s.
