Overview

BATONER is a Japanese knitwear brand launched in 2013 in Sagae City, Yamagata Prefecture, as a brand of Okuyama Meriyasu. Its representative is Kohei Okuyama. Working with local producers, including those involved in spinning and dyeing, the brand manages the entire process in its own factory, from material selection through fully fashioned knitting and finishing, and offers sweaters and cardigans. Its parent company, Okuyama Meriyasu, is a factory founded in 1951. Guided by the principle of passing the skills of previous generations on to the next, it is stocked by select shops in Japan and abroad.

Concept

The continued creation of things to be passed down to the next generation.
