Overview

CASTELBAJAC LIGNEE, a casual line derived from French-origin Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, began its rollout in South Korea in 2012. Created by Jean-Charles de Castelbajac and his son, Louis-Marie de Castelbajac, it was aimed mainly at men and reworked French tradition, drawing on French history, chivalric spirit, and fencing, in a preppy and pop style. Its concept was “The house of Brave.” The line launched first in South Korea, with expansion into Europe also planned, but in light of factors including the cancellation of its trademark registration for non-use, it can be considered a discontinued line today.

CASTELBAJAC LIGNEE was the third line, launched in Asia in 2012 and overseen by Jean-Charles de Castelbajac’s son, Louis-Marie de Castelbajac. Unlike the pop sensibility of the main line and JCDC’s youth-oriented accessibility, it centered on French preppy style shaped by French tradition, family history, fencing, and chivalry, with a primarily menswear focus. It was sold through stores in Korea as a separate concept line within the brand family. Louis-Marie’s official profile describes it as a line for which he developed collections until 2014.
