CLOTHING WITHOUT PREJUDICE
CROSS COLOURS is a streetwear brand founded in 1989 in Los Angeles, United States, by designer Carl Jones and graphic designer Thomas “T.J.” Walker. Against the backdrop of hip-hop culture, it began with apparel aimed at African American youth and developed a style combining vivid colors, oversized clothing, and social messages about topics such as education and anti-violence. The brand adopted “CLOTHING WITHOUT PREJUDICE” as its guiding principle and became widely known in the 1990s through wearers such as Will Smith, becoming one of the pioneering brands in U.S. streetwear. After suspending operations, it relaunched in 2014. Today, in addition to apparel and accessories, it also operates CXC Atelier, which handles limited wearable art.

CXC Atelier is the brand’s official experimental fashion workshop and independent line, founded by CROSS COLOURS founders Carl Jones and T.J. Walker. Unlike its regular streetwear offerings, it produces limited wearable art using techniques such as hand painting, stenciling, screen printing, embroidery, and leatherwork. On the official website, it forms a dedicated collection under the name “CXC Atelier” and is positioned as a line focused on craftsmanship and limited availability, distinct from regular CROSS COLOURS products and collaborations.
