De Martini is a bag brand founded in New York City, USA, in 1947 by sailmaker Frank De Martini. Its origins lie in Globe Canvas, a company started by Frank, who honed his sailmaking skills at the Brooklyn Navy Yard during World War II. After making bags for telephone companies, the company introduced bags for bicycle messengers in 1965. Centered on practical, durable canvas messenger bags, it also makes backpacks and totes. Production in the USA continues today.
