Overview

DISCOVERED is a Japanese fashion brand. After graduating from Ueda College of Fashion (Osaka), designers Tatsuya Kimura and Sanae Yoshida moved to Tokyo and began making custom clothes for artists such as musicians, DJs, and actors in 2001, developing this work into a brand. Based on real clothes, the brand offers a wide range of styles from mode to street and from classical to casual, without genre boundaries. Its concept is “Opposition mix up,” and it aims to fuse contrasting tastes and designs. The brand also offers “newsed,” a line created by deconstructing and reconstructing vintage wear, and has presented runway shows since its Spring/Summer 2010 collection.

As a derivative line centered on reconstructing secondhand clothing, its role is clearly distinguished by placing remake expression more prominently than the regular collections.

At DISCOVERED’s pre-order events and on its product pages, it is presented as COMPLETE LINE and treated as a separate line alongside newsed. Built around established staple items, it presents the brand’s real clothes as more refined basic wear. In contrast to newsed, which foregrounds reconstruction, this line serves to clarify the focus on staples.
