Overview

Eckhaus Latta is an American fashion brand founded by Mike Eckhaus and Zoe Latta, who met at the Rhode Island School of Design in 2011. Based in New York and Los Angeles, the independent label offers women’s and men’s ready-to-wear and accessories. Its work is characterized by unexpected uses of materials, an emphasis on texture and tactility, and a creative approach that incorporates text, performance, and moving image. Moving between and beyond industry conventions, the brand also held a fashion-related exhibition at the Whitney Museum in 2018.

Concept

Through collaborations with artists, musicians, and others, and an approach that plays both with and against industry conventions, Eckhaus Latta addresses the crosscurrents of desire, social relations, and consumption.
