ESPIONAGE is a Korean casualwear brand conceived by WHEREHOUSE, a select shop in Seoul, South Korea, and launched in 2011. Inspired by words engraved on a lighter belonging to a soldier who served in the Vietnam War, it shared the main brand’s approach of research and reinterpretation while offering lighter, more active clothing. In addition to adult clothing, it offered children’s clothing and lifestyle goods, extending ESPIONAGE’s worldview into different areas of life. Interviews with the brand’s manager and designer also explicitly identified it as a sub-brand, treating it as an independent label rather than merely a product name or seasonal project.
