A little art in your pocket, always
H TOKYO, a handkerchief specialty shop, was opened by Shinya Manaka in Mishuku, Setagaya, Tokyo, in September 2008. It uses shirt fabrics from Italy, Austria, Switzerland, and other countries, as well as materials from production regions in Japan. In addition to sewing and printing in Japan, its wrapping paper, gift boxes, and paper shopping bags are also made in Japan. The shop offers printed and embroidered handkerchiefs featuring designs by artists from Japan and abroad, and provides embroidery services. Guided by the idea of “Japanese craftsmanship at risk of being lost, and the importance of closeness,” it aims to make products on a scale where the people involved are visible.
