AMBUSH
Basic information
Overview
AMBUSH is a Japanese fashion brand launched in Tokyo in 2008 by VERBAL and YOON. It began as an experimental jewelry line and gained international attention for its pop art-inspired designs and POW!® motif. It later expanded into unisex collections, using apparel as a “canvas,” and focuses on jewelry and clothing. The brand presented its collection in Paris in 2015, was selected among the top eight for the LVMH PRIZE in 2017, and opened its flagship store in Tokyo in 2016.
Concept

DENIM BY AMBUSH® 2020
A denim-focused sub-line that AMBUSH® launched as a “new denim collection” for Fall/Winter 2020. Based on collaboration with Japanese denim artisans, it systematizes a “core range of denim” through AMBUSH®’s interpretation, including variations in fit and treatment. In contrast to the brand’s jewelry-driven main line, it serves to expand the foundational areas of the wardrobe, such as bottoms and jackets, and later also provided a foundation for upcycling projects, including WORKSHOP’s second anniversary.

AMBUSH® RECYCLED SILVER 2021
A jewelry-side derivative line in which AMBUSH® explicitly identified its initiative to collect and refine silver extracted from discarded jewelry and metal consumer goods at designated factories in Japan, then reuse it traceably, as “AMBUSH® RECYCLED SILVER.” For WORKSHOP2’s anniversary project, it was linked to limited offerings such as recycled silver PEACE rings. Alongside DENIM BY AMBUSH® (upcycling) from the same period, it served to extend the brand’s jewelry-rooted strengths from a different angle, with material circularity as its focus.
