Overview
Levi's is a denim apparel brand of Levi Strauss & Co., founded by Levi Strauss in San Francisco, USA, in 1853. In 1873, together with tailor Jacob Davis, the company created the prototype for “blue jeans,” reinforced with copper rivets. Today, it offers a wide range of apparel centered on jeans. It has a global presence, with durability rooted in workwear and a position as a staple for self-expression.
Concept
They’re the purest wearable form of authentic self-expression.

Levi's SilverTab 1985
Known as a line representing the loose silhouettes and street sensibility of the 1990s, it has also been reintroduced in recent years as a reissue collection. While Red Tab represents the core line and LVC recreates the brand’s history, SilverTab foregrounds the roomy fits and graphic sensibility of the era, bringing the 1990s context back into today’s wardrobe.

-
Levi's Vintage Clothing 1996
A heritage line based on Levi’s archives, faithfully recreating the fits, materials, and details of earlier eras. While Red Tab represents current core styles and Made & Crafted and Blue Tab advance contemporary interpretations, Vintage Clothing turns historical patterns themselves into products, conveying the brand’s origins. Including seasonal reissues and special editions, it has the clearest reissue-focused positioning within the group.

Levi's Engineered Jeans 1999
First introduced in 1999, this line is characterized by a three-dimensional cutting approach and designs that prioritize mobility, comfort, and ergonomics. While RED reinterprets the five-pocket design, Engineered Jeans foregrounds ease of movement when worn and structural design, and has been relaunched as an experimental line that demonstrates the technical breadth of Levi’s.

-
Levi's RED 1999
An experimental line introduced in 1999, it advanced the idea of deconstructing and redesigning standard five-pocket jeans. Since its reintroduction in 2021, rather than presenting the classic 501 unchanged, it has served to present Levi’s classics from a different angle by reconfiguring their underlying structure. Like SilverTab and Engineered Jeans, it belongs to the experimental lineage of the late 1990s.

Levi's Fenom 2005
A special project by fragment design and Hiroshi Fujiwara, conceived as a Japan-origin creators’ line for Levi’s. Launched in 2005, it became known for deadstock items and special-order pieces featuring motifs such as the Thunderbolt. After the line ended its activities, it has been treated in an archival context. Unlike the Red Tab staples and LVC reissues, it is positioned as an experimental offshoot line centered on collaborations originating in Japan.

Levi's Made & Crafted 2009
Positioned as Levi’s premium modern line, it reworks core pieces such as the classic 501 and trucker styles using high-quality materials and precise construction. While Red Tab serves as everyday wear, Made & Crafted foregrounds material development, sewing, and detail design, and is offered as a higher-tier collection oriented toward a contemporary interpretation, distinct from the reissue focus of Vintage Clothing and the up-to-date character of Blue Tab. Made in Japan is positioned as a special collection within this line, further emphasizing Japanese-made fabrics and a production process completed entirely in Japan.

Levi's Curve ID 2010
A fit system for women introduced in 2010, it offers fit options tailored to differences in body shape based on body data from 3D scans. Rather than pursuing a reissue or premium direction like LVC and Blue Tab, it plays a stronger role in redesigning the wearing experience for women and supports the core of Levi’s offering for women.

Levi's Skateboarding 2013
A line that redesigns Levi’s signature silhouettes for skateboarding, adding durability, mobility, and comfort to classic looks. Unlike the fashion-focused Red Tab and Premium lines, it prioritizes functionality for use in action sports and is also developed in collaboration with skate shops.

Levi's Wellthread 2015
An experimental line launched in 2015 with a focus on sustainability, tasked with testing approaches that use less water, design materials for easier reuse, and take collection and recycling into account. Separate from Red Tab’s regular product development and premium reissue collections, it serves as a practical initiative through which Levi’s can update how clothing itself is made.

Levi's Authorized Vintage 2017
A collection in which the brand officially handles used Levi’s, circulating certified vintage garments, each one unique in the world, either unaltered or with minimal repairs. While Vintage Clothing traces its origins through reproduction, Authorized Vintage functions as a complementary line that demonstrates circular value starting from actual worn pieces, and is available at select stores and in limited releases.

Levi's Made in Japan 2019
A special collection within Levi’s premium segment, centered on Japanese-made selvedge denim and sewing and finishing carried out entirely in Japan. Although it belongs to the Made & Crafted context, its defining distinction is that the materials, sewing, and finishing are all handled in Japan. Rather than the reissues of Vintage Clothing or the newness of Blue Tab, it foregrounds the place of production itself.

Levi's Blue Tab 2025
Levi’s’ latest premium line, launched in 2025, reconnects the brand’s denim heritage with Japanese craftsmanship while expanding into more refined silhouettes and categories such as jackets, shirts, and dresses. Alongside Made & Crafted and Vintage Clothing, it occupies an upper-tier segment, while Blue Tab serves as a new entry point at the highest level, renewing the brand’s premium strategy.
