Tagline

FOR LIFE = for everyday life
Marmot is an outdoor apparel and gear brand founded in Colorado, USA, in 1974. The business began with University of California, Santa Cruz students David Huntley and Eric Reynolds, who launched it with their climbing partner Tom Boyce. The brand’s philosophy is “FOR LIFE,” meaning “to make it back alive,” and it pursues high performance for “serious users,” including alpinists, elite climbers, and mountain guides, with products centered on advanced materials and technology. In 1976, it adopted GORE-TEX for outdoor products. It also operates Marmot Capital, a sub-brand for the Japanese market.

An extended diffusion line reconfigured for urban use

MARMOT CAPITAL is a Japan-designed new line launched for Fall/Winter 2023, built on Marmot

MARMOT CAPITAL is a Japan-designed new line launched for Fall/Winter 2023, built on Marmot’s archive. It reconfigures functionality developed for outdoor use into unisex designs that can also be worn in the city, with director Kikuno presenting the line around “COMFORT and FREEDOM.” Rather than simply carrying forward the traditional focus on mountaineering and high performance, it is characterized by adapting archive-derived elements into urban-oriented silhouettes, positioning it as an offshoot line that offers an entry point distinct from Marmot’s mainline.
