Mountain Hardwear is an outdoor brand founded in the United States in 1993 by nine veterans of the outdoor industry. Founding member Ingrid Hirschberger served as its first apparel designer. The brand offers functional apparel, backpacks, tents, and other gear for mountaineering, climbing, and other mountain activities, as well as for outdoor athletes. It emphasizes practicality and durability in the mountains and uses “Everything is Equipment” as a guiding principle for product development. It is currently one of the major brands of Columbia Sportswear.
