Real Newness in You
OverLab is an upcycled fashion brand from Korea. Established in 2019 by Park Jeong-sil, it collects, dismantles, and redesigns retired leisure sports equipment, including used paragliders, yacht sails, tents, and diving suits, turning them into bags, clothing, and other items. It aims to circulate materials after disposal and extend the lifespan of leisure products. After working as a designer at RE;CODE, Park serves as its CEO and director.

OverLab’s official website presents it as a line focused on material reuse, alongside SPECIAL LINE. It uses offcuts generated during production and materials slated for disposal. Unlike SPECIAL LINE, which handles used leisure and sports equipment, it helps reduce material waste during product manufacturing. Both are part of OverLab’s upcycling business, but they differ in the origins of the materials they use and the stages at which those materials are recirculated.

This is a line on OverLab’s official website that categorizes methods of material circulation, and it is positioned at the core of the brand that reuses leisure sports equipment that has reached the end of its use. Materials bearing traces of use, such as paragliders and yacht sails, are collected and redesigned for products including bags and clothing. Unlike GENERAL LINE, which makes use of production offcuts and similar materials, this line gives new uses to leisure equipment after use.
