Overview
PORTER is an in-house brand launched in 1962 by Tokyo bag maker Yoshida Kaban (Yoshida Co., Ltd.). Its name comes from “porter,” referring to someone who looks after luggage at hotels and other places. The brand focuses on bags, wallets, and other bags and accessories. Guided by its founder’s motto, “One stitch, one soul,” it is characterized by Japanese-made products that emphasize functionality as tools and craftsmanship that leaves no step—from material selection and design to sewing—to chance.

PORTER GIRL 2009
PORTER GIRL is a women's line launched by PORTER starting with the Fall/Winter 2009 season. While PORTER's existing collections included items that could be used by all genders, PORTER GIRL was developed as a fully women's line offering greater satisfaction to women. It offers a range of series that retain the functionality and utility central to PORTER—durability and ease of use—while optimizing aspects such as size, color, and details for women. Within PORTER's lineup, it is positioned as a dedicated option for female users, complementing the main, general-purpose lines.
